Conservation

The Conservation Commission is a strong presence in Sullivan. They lead the Annual Spring Roadside Cleanup, providing bags as well as a followup luncheon for volunteers.

Some of the other major activities they sponsor are hazardous waste disposal, free of charge, at the Keene Transfer Station. Drop off dates can be found in the website calendar. They fund a naturalist educator from the Harris Center to teach at the Nelson School. The commission also supports the multi-town water quality testing program for the Ashuelot River.

With the permission of landowners in the town center, the Sullivan Trail Group is establishing a loop trail connecting the existing Winch Town Forest trails and Jewett Park.
