How to Register to Vote

There are four ways to register to vote in New Hampshire.
Each requires proof of identity, age, citizenship, and where you live.

Register to vote at the Town Clerk's Office up to 6-13 days before any election.
• The Town Clerk's Office is in the Sullivan Town Hall, 452 Centre St., Sullivan, NH 03445
• Office hours are Tues-Thurs 10:00am to 2:00pm and every other Tues 6:00pm to 8pm. Check the town calendar on the home page for which Tues nights the office is open.

Register to vote with Supervisors of the Checklist
Supervisors of the Checklist are required to meet at designated times to accept registrations and changes in party affiliation.
• These times are posted in the Town Office, Sullivan Library, Sullivan Post Office and the calendar on the Sullivan website home page.
• The next session of the Supervisors of the Checklist will be Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 7:00pm - 7:30 pm at the Sullivan Public Library.

Register to vote on the day of any election, at the polling place.
• New Hampshire allows eligible voters to register at the polling place on Election Day. Voters registering on Election Day should bring documentation proving identity, age, citizenship, and domicile. Voters who lack documentary proof of citizenship can also attest to their citizenship using a qualified voter affidavit.
• This will take extra time. Look for the voter registration table.

Register Absentee by Mail
• Voters who are unable to register in person because of physical disability, religious reasons, military service, or absence from their town, may register by mail. "Disability" includes people with health circumstances who are advised by medical authorities to avoid going out in public. This includes voters with symptoms of a communicable disease or illness and those who, because of their own health circumstances, limit public exposure in their day-to-day life as a preventative measure.
• Request an absentee voter registration packet from the Town Clerk.
• The absentee voter registration form must be witnessed by another person. Both forms are to be returned to the Town Clerk.
